Recommended links
The first part of this page contains Bible-related links. These have been subdivided into the following sections: specific Bibles (in Hebrew, Greek, Aramaic, Syriac, Coptic, Gothic, English and American Indian languages), sites with a variety of Bibles, multiple-Bible systems and other Bible-related sites. Nawat-related links are located near the bottom of the page. Please inform us of bad links!
The Bible
The Bible can be found on different sites in all sorts of versions and languages, either for browsing on the web or for download. Some sites offer one specific version, while others give access to a number of different ones. Some of the latter also provide a setup where different versions can be compared within a specially designed software package, sometimes together with additional features such as commentaries and dictionaries. Such multi-version packages may again be available either for web browsing or for downloading, which is useful for intensive work on one's computer without having to depend on an internet connection.
It should be understood that the following is not meant to be an exhaustive listing of what can be found on the web. It merely lists some of the resources that have been found useful for our project. There are also various sites about particular Bible projects (like this one) which do not provide their Bible version on-line or for download; such sites will not be listed here.

This section lists sites which simply offer a variety of Bibles for on-line viewing or download that do not fall under the next category of more sophisticated multiple-Bible systems (although the distinction is admitttedly very vague).
The sites listed below present database systems or packages specifically designed to facilitate comparative study of different versions or different language translatons of the scriptures, and come with resources that include texts of the Bible in many different languages. Some are on-line systems for use on the Internet. Other sites allow users to download both the common software and a range of Bible files onto their own computer, making it possible to work off-line. Some simply offer a number of versions or translations of the Bible; others additionally offer commentaries (correlated verse-by-verse with the biblical texts) and special Bible dictionaries. Those materials offered for free download are mostly those which are no longer affected by copyright law, hence older works.
