The website and contents of the Bible In Nawat (Ne Bibliaj Tik Nawat) are for your personal and non-commercial use only. You may not modify, distribute, reproduce, publish, license, create derivative works from, transfer, or sell any information or content obtained from or otherwise connected to nebibliaj.org without express permission from its authors and owners. Short passages (less than a complete chapter) may be quoted verbatim without express permission provided that the source (Ne Bibliaj Tik Nawat) is cited in full.

Welcome to Ne Bibliaj Tik Nawat!

The website of Ne Bibliaj Tik Nawat (the Nawat Bible project), nebibliaj.org, serves two main purposes: to inform about this translation project and to give free access to the Nawat Bible on-line.

At the present time, the translation of the Nawat New Testament (ne Yankwik Sentaketzat) is complete and that of the Old Testament (ne Achtu Sentaketzat) has begun. Part of the New Testament is now available on the site, and the rest will be placed on-line by early 2012.

To browse any chapter: First click on the link to the book (e.g. Matay, the name of Matthew in Nawat). The books are listed in two places: on the left-hand panel of the pages in this section of the site, and in a fuller format on our Home page. Then click on the number of a chapter (or on "Shikita ini amat" for books with only one chapter) to start reading.

To search the Nawat Bible: No special search function is available, but general search engines (such as Google) can be used to locate specific words or phrases. Start your search string with NEBIBLIAJ to narrow down the search!

Tips: We suggest that you either click on chapter numbers with the right-hand mouse button and open the chapter in a new window, or use your back button (or the link at the bottom of the chapter page) to return to the book's page. Another tip: If you would like to compare the Nawat text with a version in another language, a link at the bottom of the Nawat chapter will take you to the Bible Gateway site from where the Bible may be accessed in many languages - including English, Spanish and even Nahuatl!

Can't read a page? We are making every effort to make this site fully functional for users of all the main browsers and operating systems, but issues sometimes do arise. We recommend using Firefox or Google Chrome to view this site for best results. If you are having difficulties, kindly write and let us know so we can try to fix it!

Missing letters? We have observed that older operating systems fail to reproduce the accented é or á which occurs occasionally on Nawat words like  (ne with an accent on the e) and (ka with an accent on the a). For the time being, those words will appear on such machines as n and k! We apologize for this inconvenience.

Caught other errors? If you come across technical errors in the site (such as a bad link), please write to let us know. We are only human but will do our utmost to improve your experience of Ne Bibliaj Tik Nawat!

Have something to say? Excited? Puzzled? Have a question or a suggestion? Wish to make a donation or offer to assist our project? Then please join our Ne Bibliaj Tik Nawat forum on facebook. You can also meet other Nawat Bible enthusiasts there! You may either comment publicly on the wall of the group or inbox the project directly via facebook (please address specific inquiries to Jan Morrow).

Want to know more? This site also contains information in three languages about the NBTN project, the Nawat language etc. (check out the other sections on the orange bar at the top of every page). The pages also contain links to other sites and suggestions on how to learn more about Nawat.
